The Big Ears; Preview 1
The chills might have moved dates from the usual Tuesdays, to Wednesdays and possibly weekends but it's intensity only increased.
Why? It's become a single leg affair and is being played on neutral venues. This means the only time to correct wrongs is while you're still on the pitch, no roaring fans to give the team the much needed psychological boost (no fans at all), none of these.
It'll just be the players, coaching and technical staff, referees and the 90 minutes or more ahead of them. A straight up finals without any shot of redemption after the night.
The UEFA Champions League, irrespective of it's form, still keeps us at the edge of our seats; only now some will prefer to stand (Barca and Bayern faithfuls).
Fixture(s):
Atalanta vs PSG;
It's the French giants up against the most deadly strike force in Italy, I Nerazzurri (the black and blues).
Tuchel vs Gasperini; two men that understand the A and Z's of attacking football and the numerous ways it can be tweaked.
Atalanta go into this game without the services of Josip Ilicic (majorly due to personal reasons, as reports claim). And although there were scares about the availability of Mbappe, it does look like he'll be fit enough to play. Angel Di Maria is suspended and Veratti still out on injury so that's double loss on the part of PSG.
Nevertheless, this game has entertainment written all over it.
